Ammunition

The Serbian defence industry and Yugoimport-SDPR, as its integrator, offer an extremely wide range of ammunition which has been one of the most significant export items of our industry in the last 70 years. The development and production of ammunition is commercially one of the most important activities of the Serbian defence industry and is the result of independent efforts by individual manufacturers, including the development of all significant components: fuzes (conventional, impact, mechanical, delay, electronic, proximity, time fuzes for artillery and for medium caliber and tank ammunition including air-burst technology), pyrotechnic compounds for fuzes, primers, cartridge cases, projectiles, powders (single-base and double-base), explosives, metal components for ammunition (including assembly and testing). The ammunition is produced in both NATO and Russian standard calibers. In the field of rocket ammunition, the production is also based on our own development and includes a number of models whose characteristics have been modernized compared to the standard world solutions. Particular attention has been paid to the development of modern explosives, including modern thermobaric explosives, modern fuzes and mechanism for terminal effect. The offer also includes anti-tank mines with programmable fuzes with the possibility of passivation, as well as directional mines with modern fuzes. Another important segment is the development of guided missile systems and guided ammunition. The biggest advances have been achieved in the field of missiles guided by means of a DATA link and optoelectronic homing heads, while several types of guided ammunition are in the development phase, which are primarily based on the INS/GPS technology and laser guidance to designated target. Conventional ammunition makes up the largest part of our offer, starting with the small arms ammunition, ammunition for grenade launchers, hand grenades, mortar ammunition, artillery ammunition as well as unguided rockets. The Serbian-produced ammunition is recognizable on the world market by its quality, production capacities, and numerous export references accumulated over the years.
