Serbian Army-Police Exercise - „Joint Strike 2018“
"Joint Strike 2018" was attended by the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Commander-in-Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, ministers and members of the Serbian Government, Director of Jugoimport-SDPR J. P., representatives from the Serbian Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, the diplomatic and military-diplomatic corps in the Republic of Serbia, and other honorable guests.
The purpose of the exercise was to prepare and train the rapid deployment units of the Serbian Army and Police in planning, organizing and carry out counter-terrorism operations.
The joint demonstrative tactical exercise included more than 2,500 troops from the Army Special Brigade, Military Police units, the MP special battalion „Cobras", support units of the AF & AD brigades in cooperation with police units - the Gendarmerie, Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SAJ), Helicopter Unit, Police Brigade and the Police Intervention Unit. In the course of the exercise, the following vehicles were used: 8 x 8 multi-purpose armored vehicle „Lazar", 4 x 4 multi-purpose armored fighting vehicle „Milos"and BOVs М11, М15 and М15А.
This was followed by a demonstration of the Serbian rapid deployment infantry echelon equipped under „Project 1500" program for elite units, and by the oath-taking ceremony for recruits enlisted in June 2018.
Guests had an opportunity to visit the tactical & technical assembly and see a part of the production program of the Serbian defense industry and Jugoimport-SDPR J. P. (six 8 x 8 multi-purpose armored vehicles „Lazar" and a 4 x 4 multi-purpose armored fighting vehicle „Milos").
