The Joint Tactical Live-Fire Exercise “Whirlwind 2024”
Distinguished Visitors Day at the “Whirlwind 2024” Joint Tactical Live-Fire Exercise was held today at the ”Pester” provisional training ground.
The exercise was attended by the President of Serbia and the Commander-in-Chief Aleksandar Vucic, Defence Minister Milos Vucevic, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Army General Milan Mojsilovic, Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zeljka Cvijanovic, Preseident of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Viskovic, president of the National Assembly of Republic of Srpska Nenad Stevandic, President of the Parliement of Montenegro Andrija Mandic, ministers in the Government of Serbia, KFOR commander Major General Ozkan Ulutas, defence envoys in Serbia, Jugoimport-SDPR top management and other distinguished guests.
Whirlwind 2024 exercise was aimed at improving the skills and competences of the commands and units of the Serbian Armed Forces in order to carry out tactical and fire missions during the preparation and execution of combat operation.
In terms of the number and variety of engaged combat troops, Whirlwind 2024 exercise is one of the largest ever conducted by the Serbian Armed Forces.
The exercise was designed to reflect the real-life conditions, and the commands and units of the Serbian Armed Forces carried out various tactical and fire missions related to the planning and execution of crisis response operations.
Among the weapons engaged in the exercise, the ones that attracted most attention included the 155mm Nora B-52 NG “Perun” self-propelled artillery weapon and 128/262mm “Tamnava” MLRS from the development program of Jugoimport-SDPR, as well as 155mm “Nora-B52” self-propelled gun howitzer, “Milos” and “Lazar 3” armored combat vehicles from the production program of Jugoimport-SDPR, which have been in the service of the Serbian Armed Force for several years.
The President of the Republic congratulated the participants on the successful performance of the exercise.
